Nobel Prize Laureate Bengt Holmström will be linked to Helsinki Graduate School of Economics and Hanken as Hanken Foundation Distinguished Fellow as of January 1, 2020.
Bengt Holmström focuses on promoting doctoral research in Helsinki GSE.

Holmström has worked at top US universities such as Northwestern, Yale and MIT. Holmström received his undergraduate degree from the University of Helsinki and defended his doctorate at Stanford.
In his own research, Holmström specializes in theoretical microeconomics, especially research on incentive problems.
In 2016, he was the first Finn to receive the Nobel Prize in Economics with Oliver Hart at Harvard.
