PhD course on Public Economics: Tax Policy

The Finnish Centre of Excellence in Tax Systems Research (FIT), led by Tampere University with VATT Institute for Economic Research and the University of Helsinki as partners, and the Uppsala Center for Fiscal Studies (UCFS) will arrange a course for doctoral students in public economics, with an emphasis on tax policy. The course is funded by the Finnish Doctoral Programme in Economics, FIT / Academy of Finland and UCFS.

Method of completion: The course will consist of lectures and students’ presentations about their own research papers. Participation without presenting a paper is also possible. There will be a take-home exam after the course.

Time: May 31 – June 3, 2022, the exact schedule will be announced later (preliminary program can be found here)

  • When registering, please inform if you need travel support (the organizers have limited funds to cover the travel costs from students residing outside of Helsinki area and in other Nordic countries)
  • Please also submit a paper or an extended abstract by the same date in case you want to present a project during the workshop
