How to find study materials?

Helsinki GSE member universities differs with their practical details related to studying. Information on how to find course study materials, schedules etc. is listed below. If you don’t find the information you are looking for, please contact Helsinki GSE’s coordinator Jenni Rytkönen, firstname.lastname(without dots)@aalto.fi.

Courses organized by the Aalto University:

  • Aalto University uses MyCourses learning platform
    • Log in as Aalto user with your Aalto IT account (that is generated after the study rights have been granted, for more info, please see How to enroll in the courses?)
    • See “My own courses” or search course with the course name and/or Aalto code
    • MyCourses instructions (AU wiki)
  • Course schedules and detailed information on the course can be found in the Aalto WebOodi; registration for the course takes also place in WebOodi
    • Aalto University is using Weboodi as it’s primary system until the end of July, 2021. Weboodi will be replaced by Sisu on August 9th and registration for the first period courses begins in Sisu on August 16th. Aalto University’s Sisu instructions can be found here
  • Aalto University’s instructions for students from other universities (please note that the instructions have been written for JOO-students, so everything in the instructions might not consider you as the Helsinki GSE agreement differs from the JOO-agreement – basic principles regarding the practical matters are still the same)

Courses organized by Hanken:

  • Hanken uses Moodle learning platform
  • Course schedules can be found in the schedule maker Schema: https://schema.peppi.hanken.fi/#/schedule (by searching teaching event (sök händelser) with the course name or Hanken course code and clicking the Info button and then choosing the Reservations (Bokningar) sheet
  • Detailed information on the course can be found in the Hanken WebOodi; registration for the course takes also place in WebOodi
  • Hanken’s instructions for students from other universities (please note that the instructions have been written for JOO-students, so everything in the instructions might not consider you as the Helsinki GSE agreement differs from the JOO-agreement – basic principles regarding the practical matters are still the same, except if you have a Finnish social security number you can go to Hanken’s self-service portal to activate your Hanken IT account https://selfservice.hanken.fi/?lang=en)

Courses organized by the University of Helsinki:

  • University of Helsinki uses Moodle learning platform
    • Log in with your UH IT account (that is generated after the study rights have been granted, for more info, please see How to enroll in the courses?)
    • Search course with the course name and/or UH code
    • If Moodle asks for an enrolment key, it might be found on the course webpage (see the bullet point below) or please contact the teacher/person responsible for the course.
  • For basic information on each course as well as the content added by the teacher, please see the Courses website. You can view the information on this site without logging in or registering, but some of the content added by teachers to course pages may be available to course participants only (for example Moodle course enrolment key). Course pages also give you access to information on the degree requirements the courses meet. 
  • Course schedules and detailed information on the course can be found in the Sisu; registration for the course takes also place in Sisu (add the course you wish to register for to your study plan and register for it in Sisu (requires login)
  • University of Helsinki’s instructions for students from other universities (to be added here later after revision)
